Visual and thermal imagery can help document solar arrays, roofs and assets without treating every image as a diagnosis. For inspection services and project enquiries, visit Brisbane Drone Services.
What an inspection can show
Visual images can record the condition and layout of equipment, visible damage and areas that need closer investigation. Thermal images can identify temperature patterns across an operating solar array. Combined with site conditions, equipment information and electrical testing where needed, this can support an informed assessment.
When inspections may help
- Documenting a solar array’s condition.
- Investigating a change in system performance.
- Recording visible storm or impact damage.
- Prioritising areas for an electrician to test.
- Keeping a record for maintenance or an insurance enquiry.
Understanding thermal findings
A warmer area is not automatically a defective panel. Sunlight, loading, shade, reflections, wind and image angle can influence the result. An inspection should state the observed conditions and distinguish findings from conclusions that need further testing. Imaging cannot establish the cause of every fault or decide insurance coverage.
Scope and access
Tell Brisbane Drone Services about the site, roof size, system details and the purpose of the report. Flight access, weather, site hazards and applicable operating restrictions affect whether and how an inspection can be performed. Confirm the required deliverables and any follow-up electrical testing when arranging the work.
Suspected storm damage
Keep away from damaged solar panels, batteries and wiring. Do not climb onto the roof or attempt to isolate storm-damaged equipment yourself. Arrange a licensed electrician’s assessment. A drone inspection supplements the investigation; it does not replace electrical safety checks.
